The Mainframe subsystems engineer will be an integral part of the sub-systems team working through product upgrades, maintenances & weekend on-call with primary core skills on MQ CICS along with understanding & exposure to SMP/E, IBM DB2 tools & utilities.
Indicative years of total experience: 6 to 8 years
Reporting relationship : This role will report to IS Delivery Manager
Key Responsibilities
- Basic knowledge of mainframe infrastructure, components & products.
- Experience in MQ Queue Manager, CICS transaction server & CICS transaction gateway (CTG ) upgrade, installation & maintenance.
- Good understanding on z/OS, Unix System Services, SMP/E, REXX, VSAM, Db2 and Third party products (CA7, Omegamon etc )
- Knowledgeable in MQ Monitoring tool (MQ Explorer) & MQ Data Sharing (Queue sharing groups) in a large Sysplex environment.
- Ability to perform problem determination as well as interface with IBM Problem support group.
- Responsible to fix issues related to MQ & CICS.
- Oncall support for weekdays & weekends.

- Groovy, Ansible, Python
Education
- Graduate – Bachelor’s degree (Engineering preferred)
- Preferred certifications: IBM DB2 Database Administration on Z/OS platform
